Watch: Joel Parkinson And The “Best Barrel Ever Seen At Snapper”
Meanwhile at yesterday’s event site…
While spectators piled atop each other down at Kirra Point for finals day of the Quik Pro, just a few hours ago, Joel Parkinson stood in what’s being called the “best barrel ever at Snapper Rock.”
Actually, “best ever” is being used in prevalence in regard to Snapper today. The two locals who show the CTers how to surf the wave, Mitch Parko and Nick Vasicek, are claiming it’s the best they’ve ever seen the wave. For an hour, the space behind the rock was shared by Joel, Mick Fanning, Dingo Morrison, Conner and Parker Coffin.
And this happened.
To claim the best ever tube at Snapper seems bold, but not so much when you take into account that before they started pumping sand into the Superbank, Snapper was just a deep hole. It’s only been a wave for the past 15 years.
