Would You Pick Harry Bryant Or Chippa Wilson For Your Surf Challenge Squad? - Stab Mag

Would You Pick Harry Bryant Or Chippa Wilson For Your Surf Challenge Squad?

It’s team selection time for Stab Highway presented by Monster Energy.

Words by Michael Ciaramella

Ahhhh, the old middle-school-gym-class team selection process. Validating for some, soul-crushing for others. There are no participation trophies here, just pure preferences, laid out for all to see and likely causing emotional trauma that never, ever heals.

To refresh your memory, Stab Highway presented by Monster Energy is a project in which four teams of four surfers compete in 30 unique, surf-based challenges around coastal New South Wales. Each challenge is graded by a panel of judges, and at the end, the points are tallied and the winning team will be featured in a Kai Neville surf film. (The first 10 challenges can be found here.)

In short, having a strong team is your best chance at unrivaled industry success. So you’d better choose wisely.

Our Stab Highway presented by Monster Energy team captains are Holly Wawn, Pacha Light, Jaleesa Vincent, and Macy Callaghan. These four ladies were tasked with selecting their teams in the most excruciating of ways. With egos sufficiently ballooned and deflated, here’s where we landed:

Team Jaleesa
Jaleesa Vincent
Shaun Manners
Noa Deane
Wade Goodall

Team Holly
Holly Wawn
Harry Bryant
Dakoda Walters
Reef Heazlewood

Team Pacha
Pacha Light
Dion Agius
Sheldon Simkus
Mackenzie Bowden

Team Macy
Macy Callaghan
Chippa Wilson
Coby Perkovich
Benny Howard

Who chose wisely? Who screwed the pooch? Time will tell.

Episode one of Stab Highway presented by Monster Energy airs tomorrow, Thursday, October 7, at 6pm Califonia time. There will be eight episodes in total, and the first is free for all. The final seven will require a Stab Premium membership.
