WSL And Nordic Furniture Giant IKEA Release Sneak Peek Of New Collection

In June 2019, the WSL announced a new partnership with Ikea, the nordic furniture giant.

Surf organizations and furniture brands forming partnerships is weird, and that’s all there is to say really.

For two years there hasn’t been a single word of the love child of the WSL and Ikea, but on the weekend that all changed in a big way when the two brands revealed a sneak peek from their KÅSEBERGA collaboration at the IKEA Festival.

After two years of intense R&D, the partnership has released a sneak peek of their seminal, sustainability-themed, surf-adjacent product line, including a balance board designed by Rob Machado, a cup, and a bag. You will be able to buy said balance board, cup, and bag in Spring 2022.

The IKEA and WSL design team consist of Kassia Meador, Kim Hogan, Rob Machado, Jason Penning, Daniel Willon from WSL, and Mikael Axelsson, Wiebke Braash and Mehmet Mehmetalioglu, from IKEA. Where possible, recycled ocean-bound plastics will be incorporated into the design.
