You’ll Want To Watch The Trailer For Peter Hamblin’s New Film, ‘Sweet Adventure’
Then the whole thing at the London Surf Film Festival (free tickets available inside).
You know Peter Hamblin’s work from his award winning films like Let’s Be Frank and Riss.
Now, the affable South African director brings us Sweet Adventure, starring Albee Layer, Matt Meola, Nora Vasconcellos and Selema Masekela. It’s classic Hamblin, bringing Hollywood flair and witty irreverence to the surf film.
It premieres at 7pm this Friday, December 3 at the London Surf Film Festival.
If you’re a Stab Premium member, we’ve secured 20 tickets to the screening for you. First 10 people to email [email protected] with their name, and the name of their +1, get two tix. Put “Sweet Adventure” in the subject.
In the UK? You should get to this premiere. I watched the film last night and it was so good. So refreshing. Throughout Selema’s narration and wandering storyline, I kept thinking, “it’s part Endless Summer…part Wes Anderson…part Take Shelter Productions…part El Salvador tourism promo…” until I realized it’s just Sweet Adventure.
As Stab’s resident enthusiast Ashton Goggans just wrote, “What a fuckin’ pleasantly meandering, unexpectedly curious trip this is!”
Amen, Ashy.
