The Pick Up: John John Florence Has Won (Almost) Everything In Hawaii

The North Shore is John’s. He’s got it al(most). Three Triple Crowns (the youngest to ever take it), two world titles, an Eddie, and multiple Pipeline wins. And though he’s come close twice, the Masters win still evades Pipeline’s prodigious favorite son.  

Yesterday, he looked to change that. To own the North Shore. That is until a now 2x Pipe Masters champion from Reunion Island gave him the title, but stole his Pipe Masters victory in the dying seconds. 

If you look up and down Kam Highway, today, yesterday, during the entire Triple Crown, the red Go John John signs and hats make it seem like the young Hawaiian was running for office. Or Mayor.

Instead, today he’s the People’s Prince.
