Welcome to the new dawn of pro surfer-owned surf companies, in which product is made with feeling! Today we have the absolute pleasure of introducing you to Rage, the new grip pad and legrope brand from Creed McTaggart, Noa Deane, Ellis Ericson, Beau Foster and Toby Cregan.

“We have our own surf company!” says Toby, a gent Stab adores who’ll be driving most visual aspects of Rage. “We’re making grips and ropes. The idea came up a couple of years ago in Hawaii over a lot of beers and we were all so hyping to just do something for ourselves on our own terms. No corp shit…”

Rage, the brand, drops today with the teaser for Rage 1, a film you can watch in full on Stab real soon. And based on the trailer, there’ll be hammers within. “The trips we did for Rage 1 were the best any of us did all year,” tells Toby. “There was no pressure, no schedule, no fucking bedtime, we stayed up late and got up early and we scored waves. It is so sick to be able to do trips with just your friends and have the common goal of it promoting something you’re completely behind and proud of, something that is your own.”

The pads are unapologetic and awesome, and based on the all-star cast, we can expect some real big tings from Rage. Keep an eye out for a more detailed feature next week, and of course, the full length Rage 1 edit.

In the meantime, peep @ragetm for updates.
