Dig The New Vans x Dane Reynolds Collab
New kicks with some Stab In The Dark influence.
For the premiere of our second edition of Stab In The Dark, featuring Dane Reynolds, we threw a damned symphony at the House of Vans in Brooklyn.
More than 2500 people came out from all five boroughs, and a good number of them walked out into the 718’s autumn night carrying a bitchin tee Stab designed with Vans and Dane, featuring grim reaper and a cryptic take of a new-age icon.
The tees disappeared so quick that we never even got one, pushed them from our collective memories. Best to forget them and move on.
Alas, this AM our friends over at Vans hit us with an email regarding their new collaboration with Dane (see above), a collection comprising two styles of kicks—the Sk8-Hi 138 Decon SF, and the Style 36 Decon SF—and some oh-so-easy slide-ons (see below), all featuring Dane’s cheeky little yin-yang doodle from our collaboration with he and Vans.
We’ll hand the mic to Vans to explain the collection—which we’ve seen Dane rocking the last times we’ve hung with the new father of three—is meant “as an homage to the ubiquitous Sidestripe model’s legacy of more than 40 years, the new Style 36 Decon SF presents Dane Reynold’s imaginative vision and original artwork on a timeless canvas footwear form. Reynolds’ custom-designed colorway brings his original sketches to life while offering a tailored, lightweight construction.”
Both kicks feature deconstructed canvas uppers, their new and super-soft molded UltraCush sockliners, and tough little rubber toe caps, while the low-top has black and red canvas and suede uppers, with classic waffle rubber outsoles wrapped and “retro marshmallow color foxing tape.”
Dig. You can take a peak at the collection here.
And, if you got your hands on one of the 1000 tees we made for the premiere, let’s negotiate. Size large, baby blue or black please. [email protected]
