Coming this Sunday to Stabmagdotcommercial is a new short film starring Mason Ho and Blair Conklin. It’s called “A Wedge Affair.”

Back in October, we met the Perfect Swell Wave Engineers with Mason and Blair. The idea: to produce 2-3 new waves using the mind of Mason, the suave of Blair, and the technological prowess of Will McFarland and Miquel Lazaro (the head wavemakers/same men behind all American Wave Machine’s creations).

So, we went to Waco. We rode surfboards and ate brisket. We slathered it in Rudy’s Sissy Sauce the named a wave after it. And, in the end, we cooked up four new wedges now being served on the Waco Menu.

Last night, at Laguna Beach Beer Company, we hosted our “World Premiere” of the 13-minute short. Blair is Laguna Beach royalty–a 2 (maybe 3) time World Champion skimboarder who also got the Wildcard to Stab High in 2018. He’s got hair like Bozo the Clown, and we’ve called him the John John Florence of skimboarding. The 24-year-old is also a fixture within the Laguna Beach community and with the premiere happening in the canyon, family, friends, and a horde of towheaded groms made their way into the tap house to watch the show.

People hung, laughed, twisted the hell out of the foosball table, and watched “A Wedge Affair.” To all the parents who brought their children, we apologize for the sprinkling of profanity audible while watching the film.

With that said, here are a few family-friendly stills from last night.

Big thanks to Reef and Perfect Swell for making this project possible.
