All-time skate personalities Eric Koston, Atiba Jefferson, Sean Malto and Curren Caples are firing up an exhibition and workshop jam in Sydney through November. Oakley In Residence: Sydney is a studio and skate spot created to celebrate the thriving culture of skateboarding. Sydney houses a passionate skate scene: From Martin Place to Bondi Beach, the city has always been a popular pit stop for the travelling pro. The studio in Sydney is designed by skaters and photographers for the local skate community. The programming at the studio offers a weekly schedule of exhibitions, workshops, athlete meets, skate sessions, film screenings, skateable sculptures (yes you can skate the artwork!).
In Residence: Sydney opens with Destination Sydney, an exhibition by photographers Atiba Jefferson, Mike O’Meally and Andrew Peters, which pays tribute to the rich skateboarding history of Sydney. Browse some snaps and talk some shit with your skate heroes. You might even bump into Jules Wilson if you time it right – he’ll certainly do some time in there.
The whole thing is free, and runs from November 5 til November 29. Location? The Studio, 74 Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills. Opening days? Tuesday to Sunday. Ain’t nobody got time for a Monday.
