We’d Give Our Other Kidney To Spend An Autumn In France
Vincent Duvignac delivers a dagger to the heart.
Is autumn the best surf season?
Speaking in global averages, we’re inclined to say yes. Autumn is the bridge between summer’s flatness and winter’s constantly pounding swells, often with clean conditions and tolerable water temps.
In France this is especially true. Between the beaches of Hossegor and Lacanau, autumn represents the surfers’ greatest delight, with mid-sized swells colliding with a medley of offshore winds. And when we say medley, it’s because they carry hints of fine wines, myriad macarons, and fresh-baked croissants.
Imagine getting a whiff of that in the tube?
Vincent Duvignac has been around for a couple dozen French autumns, which explains his knack for barreling. Click the video above and tell us you wouldn’t kill for a September on the strip.
