Watch: Zac Haynes’ Wild Winter

There are too many hellmen – oh shit, sorry, that words on the ban list – ‘big wave surfers’ who go unnoticed in our small and circular surfing industry. 

While we’ve shared and applauded the name and talent of Zac Haynes before, it’s likely not enough for the majority who see this clip to know who he is or where he’s from. He grew up and cut his teeth at the reef-bottomed spots in West Oz and gradually progressed to the opening location of the above clip – The Right. 

The clip features The Right, Cloudbreak, and Puerto all at their biggest, and it also features a couple clips of waves that don’t strike fear into the everyday man’s soul. Zac’s had a busy winter, and while the filming isn’t always up to our insatiable standards, the surfing far exceeds them.
