Watch: Filipe Toledo’s 12 Minute Assault On Lowers

Dive back into the eyes of Filipe Toledo. That ominous stare, that beard, those airs, rail grab hacks and artsy California shots. Those eyes, though. They glare into your soul–the whites: red, strained by the sand, sun and salt. I can’t get past them; they’re in each of his edits. He’s watching you watch him watch you.  And, this clip is particularly enjoyable.  The cut to Offspring’s Bad Habit, can’t help but bring back nostalgic days of grom–10-years-old–shouting, “You stupid dumb shit goddamn motherfucker!” followed by hysterical laughter and youthful angst. It felt naughty, and at the time, punk rock. Drink in Mr Toledo’s newest clip; it’s half free surfing and half singlet. But, hell, Filipe’s one of the few gent’s whose contest surfing’s just as good or better than his free surfs.
