There Are A Lot Of Good Surfers In Australia

You think Newcastle, and your mind goes to MR, Hoyo, Luke Egan, Ryan Callinan, and Craig Ando. All of them, and many good surfers fromNewy are based right in the heart of town, mostly seen surfing the fine stretch of sand around Merewether.

Point the compass due south and drive 15 minutes, you’ll find a young Conner Lee at Redhead Beach. A quiet suburban set up, renowned for its love for North swells. Here you’ll catch Conner hucking straight into prevailing Summer winds.

17-year-old is currently digging into the Junior series in Oz and chipping away at the Q.

"We filmed this through the back half of 2018 before I moved down to Sydney for work," filmer Zac Heath told Stab on the clip. "Connor is from Redhead, a stone's throw south of Newcastle's more famed breaks of Merewether and Dixon Park. I had seen bits of pieces of his surfing over the years when I would venture out of the city in search of waves but hadn't seen or heard of him in a while so when he DM'd me about shooting and putting together a clip I didn't really know what to expect."
