The Wedge Attempts To Improve Its Optics With Speckless, Dare We Say Leisurely Tubes

A few days ago, we wrote a story that painted The Wedge in a negative light. 

Framed around the recent injuries of two talented local surfers, we reported that the swinging peaks of Newport’s southernmost junction (while beautiful to look at) were not worth the risks they posed. 

Then the above video came out, and we were forced to eat crow. 

Watching small, clean, and decidedly makable Wedge through this 13-inch monitor, we can’t help but feel that…maybe it’s not such a monster after all. Maybe it could be fun—you know? In fact, we might even try it next swell. What’s the worst that could happen?

But that’s exactly what The Wedge wants you to think. Before she picks you up, drops your body mercilessly to the floor, and rubs your face in the sand.
