Watch Now: The Heaviest Slams From Our Central American Soiree
“When you’re trying your hardest and you make a mistake, you get hurt.”
This wasn’t an air contest, it was a war zone.
While there were plenty of air sections at Playa Hermosa, not all of them were friendly. In fact, most of them drew blood.
Our non-billionaire astronauts fell victim to blown-out knees, broken toes, and jellyfish stings. Jett Schilling suffered the flashiest wound and had to get a few stitches to keep his brain from slipping out the back of his skull. Hell, I even took a licking after a misstep on a rogue foam roller.
The reoccurring theme of the trip was a hobbling surfer asking for an ice pack that would melt almost immediately in the hot Central American sun. The phrase “Rub some dirt on it” didn’t help much, but having ice-cold Imperials on standby proved to be more effective than typical western medicines.
