Relive Mick Fanning’s Last Event On Tour

And what Mick will be spending the remainder of his 2018 doing.

Yes, we know, we’ve well and truly been aboard the Mick Fanning bandwagon these past few weeks and rightly so – it was his last event on tour as a full-time competitor. You may have thought that after overcoming the post-Bells hurdle you’d be seeing less of the Lightning, but thankfully, we’re seeing more of those blonde locks than ever.

You see, now that he’s off the tour and lacking that once pervasive competitive drive, Mick’s free to do trips, surf different boards and avoid his most-hated spots like the plague – we’re looking at you Main Break.

Of course, that spanking new sticker slapped on Mick’s nose isn’t just for show either. He’ll be heading off to wherever the least flown path flies in the coming months and you can expect a hefty dosage of candid Mick and Mase courtesy of Rip Curl’s Search, very soon…which you can catch a tease of below.

Snake 2.0 anyone?

In the mean time, watch above for a 5-minute run-down on Mick’s road to (near) victory on what could very well be the last tour heat graced with the Coolie Kid’s presence. Yes, he’ll probably take a Bells wildcard and definitely a J-Bay one, but a little extra footage of Mick in the jersey never hurts.

Let’s hope to see a little boost of those above lip finners Mick’s been keeping in his back pocket on The Search.

Watching John John loft is good, but seeing Mick hop, skip and jump is better.
