Tall Boys And Small Groms All Get Tubed In Melbourne’s Pool

AKA the Creatures of Leisure Team takes a trip to Melborune’s URBNSURF.

We couldn’t get enough of Melbourne’s URBNSURF facility when it opened its doors to the public earlier this year. So much so that we booked our annual aerial event, Stab High, there. As we all know, unfortunately that event didn’t come to fruition thanks to the Rona, but we can still enjoy visions from the pool.

Just before the lockdown took place in Oz, the Creatures of Leisure team made their way down with a flurry of surfers on board. Ranging from Championship Tour dreamboat Jack Freestone, to the very tall Jay Davies, down to mini groms like Winter Vincent. Even staunch/muscle enthusiasts like Mitch ‘Spawn’ Coleborn can get a wave out there.

While their southwards ‘expedition’ wasn’t to prove anything in particular, the lesson we’ve learned from it is that the pool does not discriminate. Regardless of heigh, width, or stature, anyone* is welcome to sneak into the man-made tubes at Melbourne’s pool.

*Well, permitting you can squat low enough.
