Is Bo Raynor The Most Southern Name In Existence?
5 minutes of homegrown shredding from “Boh Raėynorr”.
If you’ve spent much time around East Coast surf competitions in the past 10 years, your ears are probably still ringing with the sound of thickly-accented southern beach marshalls announcing the name Bo Raynor—likely pronounced “Boh Raėynorr”—at nearly every contest. The 20-year-old North Carolina native has quite possibly the most appropriately sounding name for a young professional surfer from his zip code. Really, try saying it out loud once with a southern draw and not burst into a smile. We dare you.
Anyways, Bo has been an East Coast standout for much of his young life, mastering his craft in the scrumptious wedges and dredging peaks that litter his backyard. I mean look at the clips starting at 3:14. How much would you pay for an hour of that right now? And I don’t have to worry about blowing up Bo’s spots because without an intimate knowledge of the tides, swell, and wind that comes with the Outer Banks, you’ll merely be taking shots in the dark while Bo and his friends score down the beach. An impressive barrage of forehand barrels and air reverses, watch for Bo Raynor to continue blossoming into the born and bred pro North Carolina deserves.
