Griffin Colapinto’s Portuguese Training Regime
Otherwise known as Snaketales Ep. 24
Gone are the days of praise reserved for well-considered and polished cinematography. Once our attention only beckoned towards the most precisely filmed, eloquently edited, and faultless videos broadcast on the world wide web.
But gradually, as our insatiable thirst for instant satisfaction overtook that which pined for quality, we found ourselves more enamoured by the modern day home video. A desire for raw, behind the scenes footage, as opposed to anything which could ever be accused of being ‘scripted’.
In part, this is what makes Jake Paterson’s series so entertaining. Essentially, Snake films for the majority of his time alongside his CT and QS surfing posse, and hastily cuts the ‘best of’ bits together into a long, yet entertaining edit.
Episode 24 features Snake and the team’s time in Portugal for the Ericeira QS 10,000. It contains all the best behind the scenes parts, such as Griffin Colapinto’s nutrition suitcase, Kanoa Igarashi’s training exercises, and Ramzi’s board cleaning compulsions.
As always, there’s also the surfing highlights as commentated by Snake himself. While he might not have the most descriptive vocabulary among the surfing commentariat, there’s few with as much liveliness and excitement.
Dial yourself in for half an hour above, and keep your eyes (and ears) prepped for the coveted sunrise and punk song collaboration at the 25 minute mark.
