Noah Wegrich Is “Mr Good Times”
A nickname to be envious of.
There’s a fine line between art and overindulgence. Billed as a “profile film on Noah Wegrich,” the new video drop “Mr Good Times” tows a fine line.
With a 17:13 runtime, it’s not the kind of cinematic effort easily displayed in an Instagram post. Filmed on a RED cam and stocked with classic surf flick gimmicks including slow-mo hair flicks, fast-mo moped getaways, off colour narration and terrible lip syncing, Mr Good Times might be best summarised as a new era, throwback surf film. It’s fun, campy and contains some artistic vision, but it ain’t gonna give you much insight into the life of the man known as Waggy. Think Jack McCoy’s Billabong years for a point of reference. With cameos by Nate Tyler and Lee Wilson, it’s not all Waggy all the time, but there is a lot of him.
If you have 17 minutes to spare, “Mr Good Times” is worthy.
