These Knees Made From Kevlar?
Watch Eli Hanneman in ‘North’.
Knee injuries account for more than 41% of sporting injuries according to the British Journal of Sports Medicine.
And why are they so common?
It is the joint between the two longest bones of the body (the tibia and femur), and the entire weight of the body is transferred to the foot through the knee. The knee is also more prone to injury because its stability decreases as it bends and the articulating bony surfaces (ends of the femur and tibia) don’t form a very deep bony socket.
19-year old Eli Hanneman from Maui, however, is an anomaly.
He has load-bearing hinges are made from kevlar apparently.
His edit ‘North’ is divided in three.
Airs.
Turns.
Barrels.
“This can point out strengths, and it can also point out weaknesses, but that’s what makes getting better so fun,” says Eli.
Anyone spot weakness?
