You’re Invited To Test Dozens Of E.A.S.T. Surfboards With Us

Introducing the 2025 E.A.S.T. Festival at the Palm Springs Surf Club, hosted by Kona Big Wave.

It’s been seven years since we sent Dane Reynolds to Mexico with 10 polychromatic alternative surfboards for our first ever Electric Acid Surfboard Test (E.A.S.T.).

In the 2,410 days since the release of that film, we’ve taken seven other professional surfers through seven different countries on alternative surf safaris of their own, and explored a myriad of unconventional designs at the hands of countless clever craftsmen (and women.)

The premise of E.A.S.T. is simple — take one of the best surfers in the world, put them in good waves, and give them a quiver of strangely-shaped surfboards by a handful of the world’s most intuitive craftsmen.

In their double-headline act, Coco and Mason’s EAST featured our biggest batch of boards in the series’ history. Photo: Miller

Some designs have orbited close to the refined high-performance sleds our stars are comfortable with, while the rest have ranged eclectically toward the unfamiliar astral plane. Some are made from discarded foam ‘rubbish’, while others are made from highly engineered covert materials.

All of the boards in E.A.S.T. are intended to expand the peripheral concepts of waveriding.

Now, as we’re currently filming our newest version of the series, we’re inviting the Stab audience and the surf community at large to join us for our very first E.A.S.T. Fest on September 28th at the Palm Springs Surf Club — where you’ll be able to undertake your very own exploration of design.

Alongside Mikey February, Harry Bryant, Nathan Fletcher, Mason Ho, and a massive crew of other pro surfers in attendance, we’ve invited some standout shapers from previous seasons.

All of these shapers will be on-site at the pool and bringing boards from past E.A.S.T. films… plus from the project we’re currently filming with [redacted]. On Sunday, Sept 28, you can experience all of this live as one of the 1,500 attendees of our inaugural E.A.S.T. Fest.

Along with the gen pop tickets, there will be 80 spots available to test our E.A.S.T boards in the pool alongside our cast of pros — Stab Premium members will get first access to buying surf sessions and event tickets (you’ll get an email soon).

Besides the surfers and shapers, we’ll have exclusive Stab merch drops, DJs, bands, food, drinks, and a handful of brand activations. PSSC’s entire water park will be open. We’ll also be premiering the first look of our upcoming E.A.S.T. series.

Go on, have a squeeze.

Oh yeah, and did we mention that we’ll also be giving away a grip of Mikey February-approved surfboards and merch to attendees?

The point is, E.A.S.T. Fest gonna be a big party where you can surf with your favorite surfers and test some unconventional polyurethane creations from some of the best shapers in the world — and we want you there.

Some areas will be 21+, but the event is open to all ages. Stay tuned for more information over the next month — tickets will be available soon.

In the meantime, watch all previous E.A.S.Ts here.
