What Can’t Sally Fitzgibbons Do?
Your host of the Sydney International Pro.
Miss Fitzgibbons is sweet, beautiful and a white-hot flame. The 25-year-old published a book last year, Live Like Sally, bought into a billion-dollar high-rise in Surfer’s Paradise (an investment) all while pinning down her own two-bedroom pad for somewhere over one mil. And now, she’s set to host the Sydney International Pro, which will form part of the inaugural International Beach Festival at Cronulla from November 3-6 of this year.
The current world number five seeks to offer a holistic beach lifestyle experience. Isn’t she just the poster child for healthy living in the midst of surf? The culture crossover fest will include a Women’s QS 6,000 along with an Ironwoman invitational, beach fashion exhibits, live fitness workouts (as opposed to dead ones), a place for the children to play, organic markets (of course), an open-air cinema, and a fun run (two words that many wouldn’t place next to each other).
“This is a great opportunity for women’s surfing, we will have some of the best female surfers in the world here along with local boardriders, a girl’s junior comp and a Pro Assist for groms, it’s only fitting that we bring them together in a nostalgic setting like Cronulla Beach,” says Sally. “It’s a fantastic chance for Sydney to get behind women’s surfing and be part of an amazing beach culture festival where we have something for the whole family.”
Oh, it’s time to celebrate female athletes. Come November, the ladies will own the limelight!
