The Volcom Pipe Pro Is On And The Waves Are Adequate
Not all-time Banzai, but it’s a good Super Bowl sideshow.
If you’re in America right now, you’re probably drunk off pissy beers and bloated off hot dogs and cheese dip. That’s what Super Bowl Sunday is all about.
If you’re in Australia right now, you’re probably rubbing the crust out of your eyes and dust out of your nose after some questionable weekend decisions. Don’t let the boss see!
But no matter where in the world you reside, when the Volcom Pipe Pro is on, you should tune in. Run it on your phone as a Super Bowl sideshow or make an incognito tab on your work comp. Frankly the waves aren’t great at the moment, but there have been a few notable tubes and the ragtag crew of Dave Wassel, Matt Bemrose, Kaipo Guerrero, Chris Cote, Sal Masekela, and Vaughn Blakey are keeping spirits high on the mic.
A few highlights thus far include:
– Tyler Newton keeping his heroic Pipe run alive with a Heat 1 win.
– Justin Becret’s under the lip takeoff to tube.
– Mitch Coleborn’s almost tube-to-rotation.
– Koa Smith crushing his competition in a helmet.
Round 3 is only halfway through so surely there will be many more.
