The Fight Continues For Sunny Garcia

The very public hospitalization of Sunny Garcia has kept friends and fans in a state of limbo. Many false reports have made their way onto social media.

Just last week, Instagram posts beaming “Rest in Peace” became a quick norm. Those whose lives have been touched by Sunny quickly jumping on the wagon of outpouring their love and emotions over a rumor that Sunny had, unfortunately, lost the war.

This was not the case.

Sunny’s daughter took to Instagram to set the record straight. Exactly one week back, she posted, “My dad @sunnygarcia is still ALIVE and fighting for his life! Please whoever keeps spreading rumors about my dad being gone please stop. Thank you everyone for you [sic] continuous prayers. My dad is a fighter!”

Today, Kaila took it upon herself to update her friends, family and anyone following the Sunny Garcia saga announcing that her father is going into surgery and his vital signs are good.

The post reads:

“Good morning! My dad @sunnygarcia is headed to surgery right now as I type this. He is getting a Trach/PEG done which has pretty much been explained to me as just a more comfortable breathing/food tube put in. His vitals are awesome right now and the Doctors expect everything to go very smooth. I just wanted to ask for everyone’s prayers as my dad heads to surgery. Lord please with my dad during surgery. Please keep him safe, let him feel no pain, and bring peace to his mind body and soul AMEN. I LOVE YOU DAD. #PrayForSunny”

What once seemed very grim, now has a slight shimmer of hope.
