Love Don’t Live Here Anymore Part Two
U.S. surf blogger and centaur-enthusiast Sterling Spencer recently caused quite a stir when he posted an over-dubbed video of Jeremy Flores’ interaction with a young fan after his first round J-Bay heat. It’s lit up Sterling’s stock. It’s been the most viewed clip on his site, cracking 11,000 views today. We contacted the always-awesome Sterling today to see how life in the fast lane is treating him… Stab: How’s the response been, Centaur? Spencer: The main response has been that people thought it was funny. Did you think it would cause as much of a stir as it did? Not at all. I especially didn’t think it would turn into such a giant debate. I guess when something different in the surf world goes down it grabs everyone’s attention. Jeremy said he told the kid to go and grab a pen, did you know this when you posted the clip? No, but even if I did it wouldn’t change anything. I just wanted to make a funny video, I wasn’t trying to start a political battle between France and America. Some French folk in the Stab forums have warned you not to come to France, what do you think about that reaction? It’s silly… I’m not gonna tell Jeremy to not to come to USA. Are you kidding? That’s just stupid… I think we all need to put our egos away. What did you think of Jeremy’s response? He facebooked me immediately freaking out, saying he’s gonna teach me a lesson. I was like, “Woah dude, calm down, what did I do? I just made a funny video.” It would of been worse if the video went out with no audio. It kinda lightened up the whole situation. He said that this type of thing would never happen to Kelly, Andy or Sunny because everyone would be too scared. if it had been one of those guys, would it have stopped you? Are you kidding me? That would be hilarious.. Jeremy also said he had to deal with a lot of calls from his sponsors, does that worry you or do you think it just comes with the territory? Well, that sucks if that happened, I wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to Jeremy… I think it’s rebirthed his career and he’s like the guy now… no publicity is bad publicity. – Elliot Struck.
