Introducing Seabass’s Winning Rig
What he rode to his first tour win.
The dilemma is having two good boards to chose from… Maybe like trying to pick between a blonde under your left arm or a brunette under your right, if you rolled like that. Both have their merits. In an EPS kind of way, such was the conundrum facing Seabass at Margaret River. En route to an unlikely, if not uncharacteristic win, the three-thumbed Kauaian had two hot rods working for him.
The board that got chaired up the beach, the Channel Islands Proton.

Under the care of fleet footed Nathaniel Curran and the Channel Islands brain trust, Bass made heats on both a Proton and Rook15. Come finals day he fondled both, picked the Proton, and came away a winner. Conceived by Dane back in 2007, the Proton was SIMA’s board of the year in 2009.
