Thom Pringle, Sunshine Coast

Thom Pringle was a virtual unknown before Little Weeds. He shone in the program because he stood out from the pack from the outset. While most cut their clips to Ladyhawke, he was surfing to Black Flag. While most could seamlessly tag a wave from start to finish, Thom struggled on the face and then diced the crap out of the closeout section. While most rocked trunks to their calves paired with logo tees, Thom sported plunging necklines and some of the fruitiest haircuts you’re ever likely to see. He’s now a regular on the photo-trip program and while his raft is covered in stickers, he’s not rich. Money ain’t everything though, and Thom’s currently livin’ the dream. Fresh off the plane from a stint in Cali, he’s kickin’ around the Sunshine coast, surfing and shooting photos. Jack Dekort snapped this image of Thom flaring the fins yesterday, and says of the photo: “I shot this at a punchy beachbreak on the Sunshine Coast. I always enjoy watching Thom’s explosive surfing – he has a lot of his own unique style in and out of the water.” Little Weeds is a-happening. We’re hoping to send it live in November, just don’t hold y’breath…
