Sunset at The Pipeline, North Shore, Hawaii

“With Pipe flaring up for the first time while the Circus is in town, first light becomes packed with every grommet that has a sticker on his board,” says photog Trevor Moran from Hawaii. “Like a line of ants they paddle out, looking to prove their muster by hucking over the lip into pits with no chance of an exit. The seasoned veteran crew patiently sits on their front porches, sipping coffee, and hooting the groms into the lineup for their own amusement.” Ain’t it excellent? But, the scene quickly flips! “Come late afternoon, the kiddies have worn themselves out from frothing all day, and the older crowd quickly takes over the lineup,” continues Trevor. “With winds easing, sun setting, and waves pumping, anyone too tired to paddle back out instantly regrets their morning of overexertion. Come tomorrow, everyone may take it a bit easier in the morning in hopes of catching the next evening bomb.” Ah, sunset on the rock. Something to adore.
