Whether or not they’re in the event, the majority of professional surfers in the world (young guns, free surfers) make their way to the Gold Coast during the Quiksilver Pro, Snapper Rocks. It ain’t uncommon for a lot of them to drive up there along the north coast, either. And if you’re gonna drive up the north coast, then a stop in at Byron Bay is an absolute must.
Close to the starting point of this year’s event, a whole lot of surfers doing the north coast drive coincidentally rolled into the same carpark at a known spot in Byron one afternoon. Soli Bailey, who is actually from Byron and is pictured here hucking a Kerrupt with gusto, was in the mix and kinda owning with some local awareness. How y’like the height on this thing?
