Ryan Callinan, An acceptable double-grip, New Zealand

“I’ve been in Bali,” says Ryan Callinan of his recent travels. “I was over there for a Billabong trunk shoot. Everyone was over there, it was so much fun!” From the bath water of Bali, Ryan’s now changed it out to the icy soup of New Zealand, where he’s cruising around in a camper van with fellow-Newcastle bud, Mike Spencer. You’ve probably heard of Ryan recently – kid’s hyped to have starring role in the new Billabong flick, Blow Up. The inverted b-side air revs y’see below is, along with Kell’s Rio ‘oop, gonna be one of the best airs of the year. His aerial game is, in a word, scary. Be sure to also check out the flip Ryan did in Hawaii last year. He didn’t quite land this one, but he’s now got a good handle on the rotation and has stomped a few. Like I said, scary. And friendly, too!
