Noah Cohen, Tofino, B.C Canada
About a 20-minute boat ride from Tofino, the hometown of Noah Cohen (pictured here) and Kyler Vos (who shot this), is this wave. Even though it’s so close to Tofino, Kyler assures that you’re always by yourself – a common trait in many of Canada’s waves. Another common sight when surfing in Canada is wildlife: “On the way up in the boat, we saw some whales, as well as some wolf tracks as we were walking up the beach before we surfed.” The whales sound cool, but the wolves? Hmm. But y’live with your surroundings and, if you’re a resourceful Canadian, y’make the most of things: “Today the beach was covered in huge piles of bull kelp that were ripped up from a big storm in the days prior – We’d actually brought a bunch of beers, so we made beer bongs out of the kelp after the session. It was just a good day with the crew.” Don’t that just sound like the most fun?
