Yesterday, Mick Fanning surfed Snapper Rocks. This isn’t a particularly unusual occurrence, but it is one that makes any photographer in the greater Coolangatta area, who happens to be on hand, very excited. And while the waves were fun, perhaps not extremely so by Gold Coast standards but certainly by standards of elsewhere on the east coast, Mick managed to scoop one of the day’s few barrels. “These bowls were few and far between,” says the photographer in this instance, Azad Sellars. “But Mick still managed to cook something up.” And, doesn’t that pack awaiting a paddle gap in the foreground just scream summer?
