Kolohe Andino’s AM Supertubos Screamer

Amazing what a day’s rest can do, for raw swell and frazzled nerves alike. Morning dawned over Peniche soft and pale pink, crisp cold offshores sweeping across the dry, brush-covered dunes, the swell dropping slightly, Supertubos smaller than yesterday, but not by much.

For my own part, a night’s sleep for the first time in three days put a little pep in my step walking up to the contest site as wedgy pits blew their guts out on the shifting sandbanks, and just as I turned the corner around the competitor’s tent, I stopped to watch Kolohe Andino get the dreamy AM screamer above, a 9.07, sending Jadson Andre packing before heading in for a few minutes of shuteye. Dream Tour, indeed, Brother.
