In May of this year, swell slammed into Mex like a freighter hitting a brick wall at full gas. It was an explosion. Puerto was going off (you saw the footage). Down the coast was no exception, just more manageable. “That was our fourth day in Mexico,” Josh Moniz tells Stab. “I was with my brother Seth. Noa Deane and Eric Geiselman were out there. It was the day after the main day of the swell… It wasn’t all-time Mex, but it was fun. I was waiting to leave on the beach for a while, none of the boys were coming in. So, I paddled out for one more wave.” And so here, Mr. Moniz remains perfectly positioned out in the Mexican Desert. We’ll leave him there because no one enjoys coming in when it’s like this.
