Dion Agius and a birthday barrel, Sumbawa

As y’may remember from yesterday’s Full Frame, some of the Globe team have been kicking around Sumbawa, shooting for the company’s new film, Strange Rumblings. It’ll be another Joe G vision, and you can expect theming, style and performances to rival that of Year Zero (or better). The birthday of Dion Agius, pictured here, fell during the stint. And a man of such lavish lifestyle celebrates such occasions with the maximum opulence available to him. But when you’re out in the jungles of Sumbawa, there ain’t a whole lot of opulence around, save for that of the ocean and her fluoro blue joys. “What better way can you imagine to spend your birthday than trading perfect lil’ Indo pits with a handful of your best mates?” asks photographer DJ Struntz, on the trip taking photographs (including this one). “I guess Dion must’ve blown out all the candles on his cake, ’cause his wish came true.”
