Dane Reynolds, pictured here, is now a professional freesurfer. In case you missed it, he released a, er… let’s call it an ‘unofficial statement’, via his blog MarineLayerProductions. “(sic) i’ve been getting some pressure from various people and/or websites to write something, sorta like an official statement concerning my exit from the world tour,” he wrote. “my dismount. my pirouette. ‘an opportunity level with your fans.’ that’s what they tell me. people wanna know whats goin on. be up to date. i can understand that. i like knowing whats going on. i like being up to date.” For the whole thing, click the link below. We’ll no doubt see him as a wildcard at Quik events or in contests close to his area, but the confirmation that his brand of sizzle will be missing from every other event is a bummer. Anyhow, we can still see him on clip and photos, like this one.
It was a stellar (and all-star) session at Rincon in California last night. In the line up, among others, sat Kelly (Slater), the Coffins (Conner and Parker), (Dillon) Perillo, Bobby (Martinez), The Currens, Sage Erickson and Yadin Nicol. And, of course, Dane. “It was super crowded,” says Jimmy Wilson, who shot this. “I tried swimming but it was miserable. I didn’t get any good photos.” Except this one, Stab argued.
