Stab High And The Unfortunate Inevitability Of The C-Word  - Stab Mag

Live Now — Episode 2 Of Surf100 Challenge Series Presented By Pacifico

It starts with a series of thuds. Twenty-four caissons fire in sequence to displace tens of thousands of gallons of treated water. A disturbance on the surface appears, taking the shape of a wave. An individual supported by a floating chunk of toxic materials matches the speed of the wave and jumps to their feet. They ride straight accross it for seven seconds, then suddenly throw themselves into the air. Stab High overexposes the absurdity of surfing. Would any of this matter if we didn’t think there was something more to it? Photo: Shuji Izumo
