Wrenna Delgado Creates Opportunities for Female Big Wave Surfers

Aside from being a full-time badass, Wrenna Delgado has also helped grow the sport of big wave surfing to female audiences. For instance, Wrenna played a huge part in laying out Red Bull Magnitude.

Red Bull Magnitude is a women’s big-wave video contest held across the Hawaiian Islands. The entry period is from December 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021. According to Redbull:

The inaugural event will put the top water women to the test and exemplify what it means to be a big-wave charger. There will be $40,000 in prize purse on the line with the “Overall Performance” winner set to receive $25,000. This award will be given to the surfer who showcases the most consistent and progressive big-wave rides over the course of the season. The “Runner Up,” “Best Ride,” and “Biggest Wave” category will each hold a $5,000 award.

By developing a new platform, Wrenna has given many young girls the opportunity to become professional big wave surfers.
