Wardo Rides Christian Fletcher’s Board At Desert Point
2 minutes of surfing you didn’t know you needed.
A few seasons ago, Matt Tromberg (Metal Neck) and Christian Fletcher ran into Chris Ward out in Indonesia. Wardo took one of Fletcher’s shapes out for a whirl at Desert Point and snagged a few backside tubes.
An interesting board, too. Forgive me if I’m mistaken, but it appears to have a hint of concave throughout the deck.
Many surfers swear that scooped-out decks have advantages when it comes to board control—more leverage on both the heelside and toeside, a theory derived from skateboard design. Considering the Fletcher family presence in the skate community, I think that theory checks out.
Most groms watching this probably have a few questions “Who’s that old guy? And why is this vlog so weird?” Well, children of the corn, if you’d done your assigned homework, you’d know why so many surfers praise Wardo.
Eh, what’s the point? These kids won’t learn anything. They’re so hopped up on thumbnails and hoverboards they don’t know what’s what. For all yee old fellas, click here to trigger core memories.
