Brothers don’t let each other wander in the dark alone.” – Jolene Perry.

The extensive list of successful brotherhoods in surfing might say something about what brotherhood itself means. From Andy and Bruce, to Sean and Mick, Parker and Conner, Josh and Seth Moniz, the Cola’s, Gudang’s… brotherhood has played an incredibly significant role in shaping the success of surfing’s most talented siblings.

The way in which this shaping occurs takes on various methods. The Irons brothers favored pounding each other into shape, Bruce once tried to blow up Andy with fireworks; Andy once knocked Bruce unconscious with a karate kick to the head.

The sunny Gudang’s presumably used softer-hands, reflected in their less fractious relationship. Co-founding a foundation called ‘Positive Vibe Warriors’ wouldn’t exactly seem on brand for Andy and Bruce.

Legend and Mana Chandler are 14 and 13-year olds respectively from the North Shore of Kauai. Just down the road from where the Irons’ grew up. They’ve even got some of that more brazen and uncouth vernacular reminiscent of Irons rawness. Then there’s their surfing. Powerful, confident, on edge.

Allow the Cola bros to introduce you to Legend and Mana, siblings we’re sure we’ll being hearing more from in years to come.
