‘The Secret To Rail Surfing Is Getting Fat’
Force = mass x acceleration, Robbie Rickard confirms an old theory w/ a new Systm.
Validation as a foam mower is seeing good surfers rip your boards.
Systm surfboards are shaped by Coby Perkovich, the multi-talented Monster Air winner from the OG Stab Highway. Coby, who turns 30 in May, has been shaping boards for many years out of a shared workspace owned by Mark Cormack with Dead Kooks and Harry Fried on the Gold Coast. They pump out an impressive number of boards for a small team, and recently he signed his first ‘official’ teamrider, Robbie Rickard.
Robbie, a rail guy, liking Systms is especially validating because unlike Cobs his rails rarely leave the water (he’s scared of heights). See their brief Q&A below where Robbie divulges the secret to rail surfing (spoiler alert: it’s not Wave Ki).
