Teen Eager To Surf Again Following Shark Attack
After his 100 stitches heal, of course.
A 14-year-old boy from Hawaii named Parker Blanchette was bit by a shark while surfing at North Beach on Kaneohe Marine Corp. Despite getting more than 100 stitches, Parker seems pretty unaffected by the incident.
“It felt pretty darn normal, I was just hopping off a wave, and it felt like a little punch to my leg, and I immediately hopped on my board after seeing the blood, and I paddled to shore,” he said.
The local lifeguards claim this to be the first recorded shark attack in history at North Beach.
Clark Abbey, the North beach lifeguard supervisor, said, “During this period in time, there’s a lot because they’re trying to give birth to their pups in Kaneohe Bay, so this is the tip of the peninsula. So they sweep their way in from the deep, through North, through Pyramid, and then they go around Pyramid and find their way into the bay, and they give birth to their pups.”
