Six Americans Just Qualified For The 2024 CT
Four spots remain – here’s a brief hypothetical on qualification scenarios.
Eli Hanneman, Crosby Colapinto, Alyssa Spencer, Jake Marshall, Imaikalani Devault and Sawyer Lindblad qualified for the CT. Two of them are from Maui, two from San Diego, two from San Clemente.
Yes, like Noah’s arc — speaking of which, anyone noticed unprecedented levels of bible-speak this Changas season?
Whatever it takes, right?

Mens
Samuel Pupo, Jacko Baker & Mateus Herdy will all be surfing to remain in qualification contention in the round of 16. Should two of: Jacko, Mateus and/or Sammy progress to the Quarters, Deivid Silva will not qualify.
The winner of Kade & Sammy’s Ro16 heat will determine who’s leading the race for the remaining three qualification places. If Jacko & Mateus make their Ro16 heats, they will share the same quarters heat — so only one of them can progress to the semis.
On the other side of the draw, Michael Rodrigues needs to win two heats (against Heitor & then the victor of Eli & Miggy) before potentially entering the qualification conversation.

Womens
Currently there’s one spot remaining on the women’s side and it’s Isabella Nicholls’ to lose.
Nadia Erostarbe will need to win the contest in order to qualify. That’s three heats on the trot against a stacked field. A big ask.
Post-note: We’ll have a more extensive piece coming once all the spots are locked.
