Meet The Next Generation Of Surfboard Shapers
Shaping the future with Jalaan Slabb
At just 16-years-old, Jalaan Slabb has already made a name for herself in a male-dominated industry: surfboard constrcution. Jalaan is a young indigenous woman from Bundjalung Country, situated on the north coast of NSW.
She fell in love with the ocean at a young age, wanted to create something with cultural vibrance to pass onto future generations. From her shaping cottage in Fingal Head, she makes boards for countless local surfers.
Jalaan’s creative process is guided by respect for the land and the ocean. Her goal: to connect with people to create something unique and personal.
ROXY has welcomed Jalaan to their team of inspirational women by setting up a board giveaway. ROXY is giving four lucky people a chance to win a board made by Jalaan. Click here to enter.
