John Florence Is Surfing Again With Only 10 Days Until The Olympics

Cautious, but still moving.

With less than 10 days until the Olympics, John Florence has posted a video of himself surfing.

It has been 9 weeks since his ACL surgery, which he underwent after getting injured in West Oz.

While John doesn’t seem to push himself to the fullest extent, he’s up and moving in the light-hearted shore break. We’ve become desensitized from watching him dismantle 20-foot faces at Haleiwa that it’s uncomfortable seeing him surf an average beachie. It’s the equivalent of watching a grown man ride a tricycle— ridiculous.

That being said, he seems more than comfortable in the sub-par environment. The only thing I noticed was that his leg appears to be pretty stiff. We’ll have to wait and see if it loosens up in time for the Tokyo games. Even if it doesn’t, John John giving 60% is still good for a few heats.
