Did Taj Burrow Really Ride 20 Litre Surfboards?
A Webber surfboard with a history in chlorinated waters.
In 2004, Taj went to Kuala Lumpur to shoot for a project at the Sunway Lagoon wave-pool. The jet ski whip-ins at famed the tourist attraction eventually landed in Taj’s film, “Fair Bits.”
Almost 20 years later, Taj’s old Webber surfboard from the film finds its way back to chlorinated sections. Australian grom Harley Walters got his hands on the paper-thin board and used it in the Rip Curl Grom Search contest. The comp took place at the Urban Surf wave-pool in Melbourne.
Harley didn’t quite get the results he hoped for, but he connected well with the relic during the expression session.Like always, Harley ends the clip by shoving the board in a trash can and using water displacement to measure the volume. The holy number for an early 2000s Taj Burrow surfboard? 20 litres.
