Harley Walters With Another Episode of Not A Bloody Vlog
Teaching an old board new tricks.
Harley Walters is back, with another relic to put through the paces. This week’s vessel is a 35-year-old board from Australian big wave legend Justen ” Jughead ” Allport. It was Allport’s first surfboard. A 5’3 Nirvana gifted to him in 1985. Wide tail, glass on fins, and a glorious retro airbrush job beneath the glass.
This kid is something else. Show this picture to anyone else his age, and they’ll be confused as all hell.
Not to mention his surfing. A melted-butter type flow from rail to rail matched with the ability to pop an air reverse when needed, all wrapped up with a developing interest in surfboard design—the perfect ingredients for cooking up a successful freesurfing career. Straying off the beaten QS path is becoming more common, making it difficult to develop original ideas. Standard vlogs won’t cut it anymore. Or not a vlog, whatever you call this thing, Harley. It doesn’t matter to us; please just keep doing it.
When it comes to producing original content, the young man is already proving to be a weapon. If he even cares about that kind of stuff. At the moment, Harley just seems interested in riding old surfboards, something that he does exceptionally well.
