Alyssa Spencer & Michael Dunphy Win The Least Contestable Surf Contest In Recent Memory
The WSL had to bury the live broadcast for a day.
The WRV Outer Banks Pro is a wrap.
Alyssa Spencer and Michael Dunphy are your winners of an event that coughed up some of the worst waves in the history of American QS events. In fact, following our previous post (and IG clip, see below), a WSL competitor told us the WSL pulled the live webcast for a day given how dismal conditions were.
Just the thought of having to surf the dribbly shorebreak next to Jennette’s Pier in Nags Head, North Carolina in a jersey was enough to turn away the current #1 in the North American QS rankings, Jett Schilling, who left before his heat started. “It just didn’t look surfable,” he told Stab.
Clearly hasn’t been watching enough Ben Gravy vids.
The current North American QS rankings look as follows. The top 10 men and 8 women from the regional system will go onto qualify for next year’s Challenger Series.
Long live the Q.
