A Clothing Collection For The Seekers

Billabong partnered with photographer and filmmaker Chris Burkard for their recent Adventure Division collections. Given Burkard’s portfolio of refined photos from every corner of the earth, the partnership is appropriate.

Chris’ work has awarded him covers of multiple surf magazines, ad campaigns for fortune 500 clients, and a time slot on the TED stage.

The Desert collection is inspired by Chris’ travels to Colorado’s Great Sand Dunes National Monument. He says, “What’s unique about sand dunes is that they’re the result of those same wind patterns that create the swells we chase and the waves we surf.”

Burkard also contributed to Billabong’s Arctic capsule. The inspiration for these threads derived from Chris’s experiences chasing swells through the Arctic Circle.

In conditions where most of us would struggle to get out of bed, Chris Burkard finds himself standing on a weird blend of snow and sand, waiting to get the perfect shot.
